DermOne Acquires Atlantic
Dermatology
Toms River-based
dermatology services company DermOne
closes on the acquisition of
Atlantic Dermatology of Wilmington,
NC. This is DermOne's second major
acquisition this year. Atlantic was
founded by Dr. Jonathan Crane, who
will continue to lead the practice
in Wilmington but will also join the
DermOne leadership team to head up
the DermOne expansion in North
Carolina.
Atlantic
Dermatology specializes in Cosmetic,
Laser, Medical and Surgical
Dermatology. It was established in
1994 to provide top quality skin
health care and to become the gold
standard of dermatology in Eastern
(coastal) North Carolina. Atlantic
was founded by Dr. Jonathan Crane.
Of the acquisition
of Atlantic Dermatology by DermOne,
Dr. Crane said, "It's always been my
goal to use what we've developed at
Atlantic Dermatology as a launching
pad to provide services beyond
Wilmington. When I met the DermOne
team, I realized that I could do
just that in partnership with
like-minded professionals who are
interested in changing the way
dermatology services are provided. …
I'm very pleased to be an early
member of a fast-growing national
practice."
Dr. Ron Geraty,
CEO of DermOne, currently based in
Toms River, NJ, expressed his
excitement similarly. "When I met
Dr. Crane, I knew we had found a
kindred spirit. … With the
acquisition of Atlantic, we are
launching our efforts to grow beyond
our core markets in New Jersey and
Pennsylvania and see this as the
first of many steps toward becoming
a national company. We're lucky to
have found Atlantic and to have them
join us at this critical stage in
our development."
