Sun Farm
Network
Walks-the-Walk
Sun Farm Network
announces it is
installing a 60
kilowatt (kw) solar
panel system to
displace 100 percent
of the utility power
usage at its
headquarters and
warehouse in
Flemington. Although
it will appear as
one large array
consisting of 285
panels, electrically
there will be two
systems with one
serving the
headquarters
facility and the
other serving the
warehouse.
Mark Warner, company
CEO, notes the
project is a great
example of what Sun
Farm does for
clients. “We are
proud to
walk-the-walk, and
make use of the same
clean and renewable
power that we
provide customers.
We will benefit from
substantial tax
benefits short term,
significant revenue
through our sale of
solar renewable
energy credits, and
the virtual
elimination of our
electricity payment
to the utility.”
ConEd and
Viridity Expand
Beyond Demand
Response
ConEdison Solutions
and Viridity Energy,
Inc. are working
together on a new
energy demand
response offering
through the
introduction of
“Energy
Optimization,” a
first-to-market,
automated,
revenue-generating,
energy management
effort. The service
allows energy users
to transform
themselves into
energy suppliers
when market
conditions present
such opportunities.
To implement “Energy
Optimization,”
ConEdison Solutions
and Viridity Energy
will integrate
intelligent software
with a customer’s
building management
system and other
control devices.
They will then
control the client’s
energy-consuming
equipment, based on
protocols previously
agreed to by the
client, when a
demand response
event occurs or when
economic market
opportunities
present themselves.
Customers will incur
no up-front cost for
the installation of
the technology.
This capability
reduces customer
involvement, while
enhancing
performance.
NJR Clean Energy
Ventures Extends
Sunlight Advantage
With the completion of its 350th
residential solar
installation, NJR
Clean Energy
Ventures, a
subsidiary of New
Jersey Resources,
Wall Township,
announces that it
will extend The
Sunlight Advantage
simple, solar
savings to an
additional 500
customers in fiscal
2012.
Through Sunlight
Advantage, a solar
system of
approximately 6
kilowatt (kW) would
cost a homeowner $65
per month over a
15-year lease
period. This monthly
rate is fixed and
includes all
necessary
installation and
maintenance costs. A
typical homeowner
with a 6 kW system
can save
approximately $100 a
month on their
electric costs, or
$18,000 over the
life of the lease,
based upon current
power prices.
Systems vary based
upon the size of the
home, which could
result in greater
savings. Another
added feature,
NJRCEV will provide
customers with a
customized view of
their expected
energy savings
generated by the
system on a
month-by-month
basis.
